Conditions We Treat
Disc Injury Treatment in Silverdale, WA
Herniated, bulging, and degenerative discs are this practice's specialty, treated without surgery on the Extentrac Elite.
What a damaged disc actually is
Between each pair of vertebrae sits a disc: a tough outer ring around a gel-like center, built to cushion load and allow motion. Injury and age can let the center push outward (a bulge), break through the outer ring (a herniation), or simply thin and dry out (degeneration). Any of these can irritate the nerve root next door, producing anything from a deep local ache to shooting pain, numbness, or weakness down a limb.
Discs heal slowly on their own for a simple reason: they are under load all day. Decompression changes that arithmetic. By gently unloading the injured segment in repeated cycles, pressure inside the disc drops, circulation improves, and the tissue finally gets the conditions it needs to repair.
The disc program at CK Chiropractic
- Extentrac Elite decompression: sessions under 20 minutes, typically 3 visits a week for about a month, most patients feeling relief within 6 to 10 treatments
- Flexion-distraction for gentler rhythmic unloading
- Careful adjusting around, never through, the injured level
- Supportive therapies: heat, muscle stimulation, ultrasound, cold therapy
- A stabilization exercise program so the disc stays protected after care ends
